From the shift out of the analog era into digital, right up to today, I spent more than twenty years in the middle of that change. I failed more than once along the way, and a few times, things went well. Through it all, one thing became clear: no matter how good a technology is, without real demand from the people who would use it, it never gets used.
In the AI era, I ran into the same problem again. Good AI only truly helps once it understands what people need. In the enterprise AI market we are targeting, understanding a company means showing that company own data to the AI. The moment you do, that data leaves the company. It is a trade: to use good AI, you give up the very thing you should protect most.
So I built the opposite. An AI that knows the company without ever sending its data out. That is Butler. Right now, I am building it quietly, and slowly.
